PHILOSOPHICAL FOUNDATIONS OF POLITICAL THOUGHT IN “GUANZI”
Annotation
The article discusses some of the principles of Taoist thought which can be found at ‘Guanzi’. The issue was studied through an analysis of the various Chinese philosophical categories which are primarily found in Taoist chapters, as well as their influence on other chapters was mentioned. The article concludes that the political thought in ‘Guanzi’ is synthesized with Taoist ideas, such as following the Dao, practicing the art of the heart, Wu Wei etc. Moreover as a result Taoist metaphysics begins to acquire materialist qualities, which leads to unique theoretical changes and distinctions from Taoism as it is presented in Lao-tzu’s writings.
