This past year marked thirty-five years since the actual inception of our educational, spiritual, scientific, and sociocultural project. It has become a tradition to summarize each five-year period
and outline prospects. In this case, the article is more reflective
than factual and pronouncement-driven. The recollections come from the present day. Thirty-five years is no longer twenty years
later. Or even twenty years plus ten, as in Alexandre Dumas's famous
trilogy. But in a certain sense, this article is also about ten years later,
as the last decade has been very significant in organizational and legal terms
for Russian education, especially higher education.
