Annotation
A comparative analysis of the epistemological sections of the philosophical activity
of skeptical academics is proposed. The article is devoted to the consideration of the limits
to which cognitive abilities extend in Arkesilaus’ criticism of the stoic “comprehending
representation” and the doctrine of Carneades about “the probable, which is both unsettled
and developed”, presented by Cicero, Sextus Empiricus and Diogenes Laertius. Let’s try to see
