PRESERVATION OF THE VOTIAN INTANGIBLE CULTURE IN THE POST-SOVIET PERIOD
Annotation
The article provides an overview, systematization and critical analysis of the mechanisms
of support for the language and intangible culture of the Votian people, carried out by
enthusiasts of the preservation of Votian culture and representatives of state authorities since
the inception of the last wave of national revitalization in the North- West of Russia to the present (1987–2023). Conclusions are drawn about the degree of effectiveness of the support
measures considered in the work, as well as recommendations for reforming the existing system
of mechanisms in the interests of further preservation and development of the language and
culture of the Votian people.
