Annotation
The article explores historical memory as a religious and moral concept, analyzing its role in the formation of collective identity and social solidarity. The author reviews the works of key theorists such as M. Halbwachs, P. Ricoeur and J. Rüsen, emphasizing the difference between scientific history and collective memory, which often serves as a tool of ideology. Particular attention is paid to the sacralization of historical events and heroes, and their influence on the accomplishment of patriotism and traditional values. The article also touches on the role of folklore, popular prints and commemorative practices in the transmission of historical memory. In conclusion, the author notes that the concept of “historical memory” does not perceive historical distance, easily actualizing, introducing heroic events and actors personifying them into the “agenda”, it forms the direction of action, rallying society around the images of heroes and feats.
