THE STRUCTURE AND MECHANISMS OF NARRATIVE CONSCIOUSNESS IN THE CONTEXT OF MOSCOW’S ANALYTIC PHILOSOPHY TRADITION
Annotation
The article examines the structure and mechanisms of narrative consciousness within the context of Moscow’s analytic philosophy tradition, with particular focus on contributions by key Russian thinkers. It analyzes works by N. S. Yulina, who developed a synthesis of A. N. Whitehead’s and D. Dennett’s ideas within process ontology framework, as well as A. F. Gryaznov’s studies of L. Wittgenstein’s philosophy of language and logical analysis that laid foundations for Moscow School. D. B. Volkov’s conception of narrative is examined in relation to personal identity problem, while D. V. Ivanov’s approach to access consciousness (A-consciousness) as information processing management is discussed. The contribution of L. B. Makeeva to development of analytic tradition, including issues of language- reality relationship, is also addressed. The author demonstrates how Moscow philosophers adapted Western ideas (Russell’s logical atomism, Whitehead’s organismic ontology) to Russian context, highlighting their role in overcoming Cartesian dualism through narrative models. Special attention is paid to naturalistic understanding of consciousness, its connection with language and evolutionary mechanisms, which opens new perspectives for cognitive sciences and psychotherapeutic practices.
