Annotation
The article concludes the consideration of the perception of the phenomenon of forces
within the boundaries of the physical type of research. The reasons for the rejection of longrange action and the transition to short- range action in the relations of physical masses and
space in the general theory of relativity are analyzed. It is noted that the definition of space
as a source of gravity leads to two consequences: space is either likened to a sensory thing or
turns into a geometric abstraction. The inadequacy of the quantum hypothesis of gravity is
also revealed. The limitations of the physical type of cognition for a satisfactory illumination
of the phenomenon of forces are stated.
